So yesterday, or rather today, everyone said goodbye to the year 2011.

My last day of 2011 was spent praying at my great-grandmother's death-niversary, and driving 8 hours back to KL.

How do I summarize my 2011?

Well, I managed to go to Seoul, but other than that, I can't recall much things because my whole 2011 was overshadowed by my paternal grandfather's passing on the Winter Solstice celebration day.

His death was really unexpected because, he was not bed-ridden or awfully sick or anything though he has been weak since I saw him on Chinese New Year. But it was really, like a slap on my face, you know?

I was driving back home from work, got a call from my aunts in Singapore, bad connection, and heard "ah kong" "unconscious" "operation" and when I called my father he said,"yeah, he's in a coma"

wtf luckily i didn't bang any cars on LDP.

COMA? wait, i only hear that in dramas.

My grandfather? Cannot be.

When I reached home my mom was in tears.

I found out my grandfather will never survive and that my father and his siblings chose to let him pass away peacefully instead of having an operation for the blood clot on his brain.

I mean, HOW THE HELL DO YOU MAKE THAT KIND OF DECISION?

Especially when it's your own father.

I wonder what when through my father's and my uncles' and my aunts' heads when they decided on that.

I don't think I would be able to say, "It's okay, let him die"

He passed away that night itself. We went back to my hometown early in the morning and reached at noon. Relatives were already visiting and I went into the house and saw his coffin, and his body was on the floor, covered in a baby blue blanket.

"Come see your ah kong, he's smiling sweetly"

I cried, my aunts came to touch me. My parents revealed his feet and asked me to look (I don't know why) and then they unveiled his face.

I couldn't stop crying. I just stared and stared in disbelief.

"wtf this is not happening"

I didn't even go close to his body.

We changed into white tees and proceeded with the rites. My dad as the eldest had to do some stuff, and we participated in bathing the body.

That was when I realised I've never touched him my whole life. I don't remember hugging him or kissing him. Maybe I did when I was younger, but I don't remember. I guess wiping his body with a wet cloth was the closest thing I've ever done.

He was buried on the 5th day of his death at a family burial ground, between his siblings.

Honestly, I never knew him well. I never bothered too. I wanted to say that it's because of the problems he had with my father is the reason why we were never close, but why should I blame it on that?

I'm already grown up, I should have made more effort in getting to know him. Like when he asked for me when he got sick once.. I ended up not calling him anyway.

What sort of a grandchild am I?

True, he and grandma divorced and both remarried, he got another 5 children with his new wife (who treated me as her own grandchild, and same goes to my aunts and my uncles, who treated me as their niece even though we're only half related), true I hardly see him, true he may favour my cousins better..

But he is still my ah kong.

Now he's gone, and I will never get to see him during Chinese New Year anymore. He will never get to see me married, and I will never be able to show him my graduation photos which I developed for him and grandma to keep at their place.

He's not going to see youngest uncle get married, he's not going to see his 13th grandchild being brought into the world! If only he waited one or two more months!

Despite all that, I hope he had a great life before going away. There were definitely ups and downs but his children gave him a good life and all of them are doing well.

I hope he didn't suffer badly while he was unconscious.

Ah kong, I am sorry I wasn't a good granddaughter to you. I hope the others' filialness managed to make up for it, but still I wish I had treated you better and given you love that you are supposed to receive from one of the eldest grandchildren.

I am sorry, really really sorry.

Unboxing UVERworld's 20th single

Because it's a *shameless* birthday present to myself.

I initially thought of buying myself a watch, just like last year. But after seeing that UVERworld was releasing their 20th single on December 14th (which is today), I thought why not? The pre-order was opened a month earlier and the limited edition single came with a DVD which contained performances of MONDO PIECE and CORE PRIDE (my favourite songs from their 6th album, Life 6 Sense) so I thought, screw watch.

And because I've never managed to buy myself any limited edition CDs.

(Because usually I discover artistes that I like a little too late)

So I ordered, and I can't remember how much I paid because it was a month ago and I didn't bother until the release date came closer.

Then 2 days ago I received an e-mail from CDJAPAN that my order was shipped and I went "OMG!" Because I thought it will only be shipped on its release date but I guess I was mistaken.

I thought it was gonna take about a week to arrive when suddenly I check my CD location and saw it arrived in Malaysia today!

So happy!

And when I came home, the brown package was there on the table for me to devour.

They all look so good. Katsuya chopped off his guinea pig-like hair (Life 6 Sense era) and I think he lost weight (again!). Lovin' his feature now BUT the clothes! What is he wearing?? I mean the blazer/coat is okay, BUT SHORTS WITH TIGHTS?!

Korean Dream Part 8 - Namiseom and NANTA

27th September 2011

Had breakfast at a cafe nearby our guesthouse called Bliss & Bless, which is located near our guesthouse in Myeongdong.

The interior of the cafe is really really cute. It was a working day (and around 10-something am) so it wasn't crowded, we felt really comfortable.

2nd floor

To be honest, it's actually a nice cafe, but it has to improve on their service. It takes them quite a while to prepare our drinks though we brushed it off, thinking that because the coffee needed to be hand-dripped, that's why it took a long time.
We went again at night (I can't remember whether it was the same day) to get some hot drink before retiring to our guesthouse, got into the cafe which was packed and wanted to order since it wasn't their closing time yet. Took them a while before telling us that they're "not making" anymore (after we went through the menu). LOL.

Off to Nami Island! Let the pictures do the talking, because I have no idea what to say. But the scenery throughout the journey was really nice - the sky was blue, the greens were.. green. :)

From Myeongdong station we headed to Seoul station (Line 1), ride the subway all the way until Cheongnyangni station. Then you have to take the train (KORAIL) at the Sangbong Station and ride all the way to Gapyeong station. We didn't take the shuttle bus at Tapgol Park, which is another alternative to Nami Island.

The total time for our journey from Myeongdong station to Gapyeong station: 1 hour.

Took a cab (less than KRW2,500) to the Gapyeong whalf, where we bought our tickets and ride the ferry to the island.

You can actually fly-fox (???) yourself into the island. But it cost double (or triple) than riding the ferrylah.

But the idea seems interesting. Might try next time? LOL.

Saw a cute guy during lunch, he was wearing pink CROCS loafers and obviously alone. Should have talked to him. Little that I know we would bump into him again the next day! Like seriously!

We walked to the location where the famous cycling (okay, maybe not just cycling, but how to remember??? I watched it ages agolaaaaa) scene in Winter Sonata was filmed!

After spending some time on the island, I actually thought of staying there. It's just so peaceful and GREEN! Except of course, where there are too many visitors. And I don't think there are people staying there. And I can't imagine winter there. Alone. *shivers*

Had ice-cream before taking the ferry back to the mainland. And then..

our drinks from Beans&Berries where we had our pitstop in Lotte Department Store. Funny thing was we disliked the drinks that we ordered ourselves and exchanged with one another! LOL
Back to Myeongdong, where it is always alive and.. crowded.

Had dinner at McDonald's and tried their Bulgogi Burger.

And went to watch the 8pm show for Cookin' NANTA at their Myeongdong theater.

We were actually helped by our guesthouse personnel (thank you ahjumma and unni!) to book tickets for us!

Wanted the 1F seats but they were all sold out! :( So had to settle for the 2F ones. (KRW40,000 each)

Enjoyed the show so much! I think I laughed the most and got my money's worth. Or maybe I was easily amused by their jokes. If only I could participated in the show because they did invite some viewers for some scenes.

We tried the tofu skin thingie. It's actually not tofu skin filled with fish, to me it's more of a fishcake which is made thin. Best eaten on a cold night, while sipping the MSG-laden soup in a paper cup. ^^

The first to be married...

*..among us 21 Chinese in our course is none other than Yee Chuan and long time girlfriend, Sandra (I don't know how to spell her Chinese namelar)

When he posted a photo of his ROM, we all got excited but there were not any hints for dinner yet until one day Mun Yee mentioned that his dinner will be on Dec 2nd but the Facebook invitation was only available after adding his new account!

At first I was a bit disappointed since I had to add him just to get the invitation until I checked my friend requests, lo and behold, his request was there!

*malu*

Soon after adding him the invitation came and I couldn't help getting teary-eyed over their wedding photo (not sure why).

Months after that, I received a missed call from him and after calling him back, he invited me to his wedding and asked for my home address so that his card could be sent!

Now, honestly, during our uni days, we weren't THAT close even though he was my neighbour during the 2nd and 3rd years and we talked only once a while. However he was such a sweetheart because he kept worrying about me going alone and made sure that I arranged everything with the others.

Obviously I failed haha too busy until last minute I asked him about accommodation and he said no problem, I can stay with his friends/wife's friends at a homestay. He even asked me to call him or his friend once I reached Gurun so that I can be directed to the homestay.

However I managed to contact the others and decided to tag along. Though I still drove on my own *pumps fist in the air over awesome solo driving which would have given mom a heart attack*

Still I was touched at his kindness.

Thank you so much Yee Chuan and sorry for troubling you!

Left Restoran Jejantas Sg. Buloh with everyone around 9am, and stopped at Juru Autocity for lunch! My first time there.

Went into Penang Island to check into Eastin Hotel.

We got ready and left the island at 5pm. Since we've never gone through the bridge traffic jam, we didn't want to take any chances and be late for the historical night. But luckily the jam was not so bad, we managed to reach the hall 15 minutes earlier! *amazed*

* our tables were at the front to our surprise. i think to we have a special spot in his heart LOL. I mean seriously. We didn't expect to be seated at the front. *touched*
We didn't have to wait long for the couple to arrive and boy, they looked really GOOD! I was like "Whhhhhaaaaaaaaa" but then I realised he looked thinner than he used to be. Hmm. Wedding jitters? LOL

After the dinner, we went to his house and continued drinking a little more (even drank with his cool dad!) before calling it a night.

They planned for a meetup next day but I had to pass since I promised to visit my sister at her uni.

Although it was a very short trip, and I regret not being able to join my friends for the meetup (which included endless makan sessions wtf T__T), it was still a very meaningful one. It was great catching up with them, and I hope to see them again.

We even promised to make weddings as our gatherings hohoho.

As for Mr. and Mrs. Ang, I sincerely wish them the best of everything.

Korean Dream Part 7 - No Monday Blues in Seoul!

26th September 2011 - Times Square

Our Monday in Seoul must be the most historic - we spent time only at one place! Or one building! Or two buildings! No wait, make that one 'cause I'm pretty sure we were in Times Square most of the time.

From Myeongdong station (Line 4), head to Seoul Station to change into Line 1 and head til Yeongdeungpo station, coming out at exit 3.

And walk towards the direction of Times Square.

Went to have brunch first, since we started the day quite late. Settled at this small shop selling porridge.

We ordered two types of porridge 'cause the portion for one is quite big. Until now we can't understand how Koreans can eat so much and not be fat.

Hmmph.

After that we basically ventured in Times Square - firstly, we went into Muji, a Japanese store selling a lot of things varying from stationery, kitchen utensils, bedroom stuff etc.. and then...

This is where they filmed the first opening for Running Man. Heck, the first episode of Running Man was set in Times Square!

It's just a small park. Not sure if you're allowed to have picnics up here.

Of course we had to go to Starbucks! :P

Went into Kyobo to look at cute stuff! Basically Kyobo is a huge bookstore, selling books, magazines, stationery and random stuff like Kinokuniya.

Ate at this small shop called Myeongdong Noodles! Quite near to the place where we had brunch.

Didn't do much after that, except for going into Olive Young, a drugstore to look at cosmetics unavailable in Malaysia. I bought my Shiseido Integrate Mineral Base as a backup! :D

Then we headed back to Myeongdong and had dinner nearby our guesthouse. Seems like we ate a lot on this date huh? LOL.

The Blabs #4/2011

Just came back from a one-week leadership camp up north.

our velcro nametags for the uniform, which we get to keep YAY!
Wasn't keen on going at first due to loads of pending tasks at work, but glad I did. (Yalar if didn't go I'll never be able to get my confirmation!)

It was a good distraction.

A GOOD GOOD distraction indeed.

Climbed a few hills, learnt compass marching, did body rafting, which was the awesome-mest activity there, I so wanna do it again! Although I almost drowned after trying to dodge some trees/branches.. Thank goodness for wonderful groupmates and great facilitators!

And my groupmates during trekking/hill-climbing were so great. On our second trekking we had to hike up this slope which was around 80 degrees and i kept trying not to cry to due the pain in my legs when one of the boys went, "Go Angeline, I'll support you from the back!" And he lifted up my backpack while we climbed together omg i felt so touched *sob sob*

If you were to ask me if I'd do it again, I'll say "NO" is less than a millisecond! But I want to go back to the camp to visit the wonderful people there, those who people would think their jobs are not as tough/great as those in the army/police.

But they are freaking awesome okay? Very pro at what their do! And they risk their own lives saving (some of) us unfortunate ones who had difficulties during body rafting. Some of us passed out and had to be given first aids, I witnessed two and I almost cried because I never thought these kind of things could happen in front of me. But the facilitators were so good at first aids, and they never panicked!

For this, I must salute you Civil Defense officers.

Oh, I did mention it was a good distraction right?

Well, it's because I got to cuci mata my one whole week there.

He stood out as someone who could take care of me (with his physique LOL) and he seems knowledgeable about loads of things and plus plus he's so so cute! LOL wtf. (although my friends weren't so fond of him)

So I gave him my card, with my mobile and private email (embarassing moment happened that time too) and went home.

Then I found out he's married (after info extraction from his ex-colleague).

AND then I found out after further investigation that he has a child already!!!!

Korean Dream Part 6 - Lotte World!

We stayed to watch the parade which started at 7.00pm, and chose a spot so that we could see the parade. We didn't know that the capsule that we were facing opened up and some flowery thingie came out, but fireworks popped out too!

We actually didn't ride on anything because we didn't want to spend so much in a theme park, so we bought the After4 Admission ticket @ KRW22,000 (adult price). Not for riding stuff but we can watch whatever shows available. Luckily we didn't bother about the rides because it was a Sunday, and queues for ever rides were LONG!

After the parade we headed back to Myeongdong for dinner. Decided on a place which is at the same row as our guesthouse.

11.11.11 - (Crabby) Birthdays at Green View!

The day my father turned 56.

Wah if I was born on the date I was dued to be out, I will be celebrating this date too! But what to do, mom said I couldn't wait to see the world, so I clawed my way out 3 days earlier..

AT MY GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE!!!!!

See, my impatience can be traced back from the day I was born. No wonder I'm such an impatient person. LOL.

As usual we went out to celebrate our birthdays together (one day earlier actually, cause I feared that everywhere will be crowded if we were to celebrate on the actual date) at my dad's and my sister's favourite crab place:

My sister LOVES the salted egg crabs at Green View (located at the former Rothman's roundabout), so it was sort of a treat for her before going back to uni.

I always dread going to Chinese restaurants, because I can never know how to order in Chinese. My parents would always nudge the waiter/waitress towards me because apparently among all of us, I knew Mandarin the best!

Luckily Ika was with us, so she helped until we were trying to decide how many types of dishes to have and I said I want 2 crab dishes, "no hang, no hang (two types)" and the uncle went,"AIYAH Hokkien lang ah? Ae sai kong Hokkienlah!"

HAHAHAHA *rolls on the floor*

So we ordered in Hokkien.

Thought of testing my Mandarin while ordering veges, when the uncle said sweet potato leaves I straightaway said,"ma ling su!" with confidence. Then the uncle went,"Bolah, fan su ye!" (my pinyin sure not correct one)

FAIL.

Uncle recommended salted egg pumpkin and it was damn good, especially hot! The hint of sweetness from the pumpkin really matches the salted egg (wtf food reviewer mode). Will order again!

Lalas that came that night were HUGE! Loved the curry leaves+baby shrimps+sauce. Oh I iz hungry again.

I love yam baskets, do you? When uncle suggested yam basket I straightaway said YES! Came with honeyed baby squids, which were a bit chewy, but still crunchy. It was my duty polishing this off. Hohoho. *over-carb-load alert*

Bro wanted marmite ribs, and they were good. I remember the sweet and sour pork at this place is equally good as well!

Medium-sized Indonesian crabs! :D 2 crabs each, but enough for the eight of us!

The sweet and sour crabs came with fried mantous (buns). I wish they made the sauce less sweeter because the mantous were also sweet!

I always eat the claws, more meat! hahaha
Oh well, I reckon we will be going to Green View often, because we haven't found any other place that offers crab dishes as good as Green View. Oh, and the service is good too! Very fast in changing your plates when they're filled with nonsense (except for once when I went there and sat upstairs, damn slow service). The uncle who took our order was so friendly, and he gave us his card.

He's called Yong, although it's not the name on the card. LOL. Hahaha. Told us to call him if we want to eat there again.

Anyways, Happy Birthday dad. May you be blessed with good health and be happy always. I wish I could do more for you but I can't I'm still new in the working world, but if I get rich and famous, I'll buy you your dream car, kay?

But I think you'll be to damn old to drive it so it'll be mine!

I've been dreading today.

The day I turn 25.

The day I turn a quarter of a century.

I know I'm not the only one who have this feelings - I'm sure my peers felt the same when the day arrived for them (or maybe not!) and some who have yet to reach this number have already voiced out their worries.

The day pretty much passed by quickly. Was a bit lazy at work today because yesterday was a public holiday, and of course I was busy reading birthday wishes. And did a lot of thinking until I slacked at work.

I'm not sure what my feelings are right now. I realised I've been emotionally screwed up ever since coming back from Seoul. I thought it must have been some weird withdrawal I'm having, but then it's getting wayyyyy out of hand.

My birthday wish is to be in Oita, Japan actually, because UVERworld's rocking a show right now! That would be an awesome birthday present.

(well that's one of my wishes, you can check my wishlist and feel free to contribute in any way if you're interested haha)

But I'm here, reading back all the wishes I've received, from close friends to unimates to ex-colleagues to batchmates to schoolmates and I remind myself to be content with my life.

Unfortunately, I'm not. I DON'T WANT TO LIE TO MYSELF.

Maybe it's the PMS???

Maybe.

I don't know. As time passes by, I'm getting more and more unsure about everything.

I wish for a lot of things right now, things that I'll never be able to have, not now, not even in the future (because they're a bit ridiculous since there's a lot of shits involved).

I feel like I'm running out of time but..

All I can give myself right now is some patience, perseverance and strength (and some will!) to go through this, before I can finally make the brave decision.

Korean Dream Part 5 - The Tree Street and COEX

(Still) 25th September 2011 - The Tree Street, Garosugil

We took a cab to Garosugil (Garosu street) and luckily we had an untalktavi taxi driver. No complaints there though! At least he was polite when he asked where we would like to be dropped off! :)

He dropped us at one end of the street and my my, each side of the street is lined with trees!

The trees that lines the street are supposed to be gingko trees, so I got in for a closer look

Not really sure if you can see it clearly, but it is indeed a gingko tree! :D First time seeing one, so a bit excited LOL

We walked til the other end of the street, and trackbacked. Here I wanna thank my two buddies for allowing me to experience SE7EN's restaurant, Yeolbong, eventhough we weren't hungry! :D *muah muah*

We ordered a main dish, some chicken in soy-saucy gravy, and told the waitress, "NO SPICY!" and got a bowl of rice with some condiments (mainly roe, seaweed and egg) on it.

Placed on the second floor of a shoplot, the restaurant is not that huge. There are round 3 tables on each sides, 4 tables in the center and maybe a few outside at the balcony. On that day the other patrons were mostly tourist from China! :O

Took the subway at Sinsa station (Line 3) until Nambu Bus Terminal, came out at Exit 5 and waited for the free shuttle bus. You can also take bus number 4429, but you need to pay for the journey.

I think we stayed only for an hour until we couldn't take it anymore and took the bus back to the Nambu Bus Terminal station (Line 3) until the Seoul National University of Education station, changed to Line 2 to Gangnam station.

As we were too full we didn't get anything to eat (or maybe Wenzy did I can't remember) but I must say, I was not impressed with what I had there... which I can't remember what it was wtf. A bit pricey too. Somehow Pascucci left a better impression.

Oh well maybe I should try again next time.

I keep marking places to try/go again next time (Yeolbong!) because I am planning to go Korea again. Currently the year chosen is 2014 because of the Asian Games in Incheon (planning with my cousin, not sure why we want to see sports in Korea), but I'm also interested to bring my parents to Jeju Island so.. we'll see how everything goes. But definitely not next year (hint: I want to go see UVERworld!).

From Myeongdong (Line 4), took the Line 3 at Chungmuro and headed straight to Apgujeong, exiting at Exit 2.

Actually we did nothing much in Apgujeong. We wanted to go to the rodeo street but we're not sure where it was and we weren't sure if we were on the right place! So we went into Nature Republic!

I spotted a black MPV and my brain automatically analysed it as "ARTISTE'S CAR"! This has got to do with watching numerous episodes of Family Outing where usually the artistes will arrive the location shoot in this type of MPV, usually in black.

I guess Pakwan got curious too! (I think it was more of my excitement made her took photos too haha)

Korean Dream Part 3 - Hongdae and the 1st dinner

After washing up and NOT changing our clothes (LOL!), we headed out to Hongdae.

From Myeongdong (Line 4), we went to Chungmuro and changed to Line 3 until Euljiro 3-ga, changed to Line 2 and stopped at Hongik University station.

We came out of the Hongik University exit, but we were quite lost for a while since we were supposed to be in a place with flea markets, instead we were greeted by buildings.

So we walked and walked and walked. Stopped by a mall (sorry, failed memory!), went into UNIQLO for a moment and continued walking until we saw some stalls on the verge of closing and we were like, "oh no, we're late!" so we just walked into the rows of building.

There was a stage set up at the Hongik art market and these two girls were doing some sketch which were very.. urm, I guess we didn't understand. They were having dialogues, making cat sounds (they really MEOW-ed I tell you) and some martial art moves..

We didn't buy anything from the market, there were some pretty stuff but a little expensive. I guess the fact that we have just arrived made us a little calculative and since we have a lot of more places to go in the coming days, we would just skip shopping there. The handmade jewelries were all pretty though!

So we searched for places to have dinner instead!

We walked for a long while, not being able to decide on what to eat. Most of the restaurants do not have English menus, so it was hard. Our plan was just to go into any restaurants which has photos on their menu and just point! Our stomachs just couldn't take it anymore so they dragged their respective owners to a restaurant. After looking at the photos on the menu outside (no English words! *horror*), we decided to just go in, and were brought upstairs.

We didn't know what to order, so we asked the waiter for suggestions. Luckily the chap was able to speak a little bit of English and he was damn helpful as well, so, win!

the side dishes. The taugeh/bean sprouts soup was bland - i mean it tasted like taugeh water! haha. I liked pickled radish (or was it water chestnut?) and the glass noodles was good too! The cabbage kimchi was good too.
We basically over-ordered. We weren't greedy, just hungry and eager to try stuff! :P Didn't expect the portions to be HUGE! The pork belly dishes is only the medium size, so I wonder how the large is like..

Ah, that's the restaurant, if you want to go. Our dinner was around KRW50,000, which is like RM150? Pricey (for our standards, but I think the dishes in Korea are priced similarly), but we should have ordered less. Haha.
After the dinner we decided to order only for two people whenever we eat.

We stumbled upon a crowd gathering over something. When we joined it, we found out they were watching Garfield dancing to 2PM's Heartbeat!

Korean Dream Part 2 - The (packed) streets of Myeongdong

Here's Part 1 for you! :)

24th September 2011 - Seoul Station --> Myeongdong

So we took the train to Seoul Station (chose the cheaper line with many stops, though I don't think it was a very long ride) and that was when our horror started.

You see, although we were very prepared to go to which exit to take the taxi, we ended up getting confused and walked out of the wrong one first, and decided to go to the correct one. Sorry I can't remember what number are the exits, but the one to Myeongdong has 3 taxi lanes/stands.

We didn't know which one to choose, so we decided to take the first lane, since there was a lot of people lining up at it. The 2nd lane had a lot of black taxis, which we were advised NOT to take. When we got our taxi, we said we wanted to go to Myeongdong, and the driver replied rather very rudely and uninterested, "Myeongdong eodi?" although Wenzy said Namsandong a few times, apparently he was not interested in helping us! So we gave up.

And while looking at the map to the guesthouse, a guy directed us to the other exit, the wrong one. So we went. And took a cab there. And found out that we were actually at the right exit earlier. The driver of our taxi was complaining non-stop, saying that we took taxi at the wrong place. Apparently we confused him by saying MyeoNdong instead of MyeoNGdong. He talked/complained too much and made the whole ride uncomfortable! It was a nerve-wrecking ordeal for us, we thought we would never get there. Not sure what is his GPS for btw.

But still he got us to our guesthouse! PHEW.

Dumped our luggage, cleared the payment (had to pay for our accommodation with cash) and set off to the happening streets of Myeongdong, which is at the other side of our guesthouse!

My goodness it was packed! Well, obviously since it was a Saturday, but still! Many Japanese tourists as well, and occasionally Thais!

Although Myeongdong can be a bit confusing, we were lucky since there were guides in uniform who gave us maps of all the shops in Myeongdong!

In Myeongdong, most of the cosmetics/skincare shops have promoters in front of their outlets to distribute samples/gifts and get customer into the shop. This girl approached me and though I said now, she kept pestering and said and hand me a box of cotton pads and said,"one minute only". I said "no thank you" but she grabbed my hand and led me into the shop and passed me a basket!

Headed back towards our guesthouse since we were scheduled to be in Hongdae at night for dinner.

Stopped by the 7-Eleven to check on what they have, bought some stuff not available in Malaysia's 7E! I bought a packet of chocolate-coffee drink and there was a cup of ice provided for you to pour the drink in! :O

Some shots of our room at IB Ville. We took the triple room which has 3 beds, fridge, TV, bathroom with a bathtub and a cupboard for clothes. It was KRW80,000/night, which is around RM240? But I guess it's quite good since it only cost us RM80/person/night. Somemore got free wifi and we can have simple breakfast of toast for free!

Did the reservation through e-mail, they were very helpful with information on rooms, and their replies were prompt. They helped us book our Cookin' NANTA show and our DMZ Day Tour as well. :)

Korean Dream Part 1 - The Takeoff and Landing

WeeN's note: So apparently I didn't miss out much from the Korean Music Wave 2011 while I was in Seoul - Ika informed me that Seungri sang 3 songs and GD&TOP sang 3 songs. Phew!

I wanted to combine all the first day (including the flight) into one post but it's impossible! So I'll split into two (or three?)! :P

23rd --> 24th September 2011, KUL --> ICN

Took leave that day - lucky I did because I was not done packing! Went to have lunch with my colleagues with an intention to visit another colleague's newborn baby (yeah, we didn't want to see her haha) but that didn't happen, so lunch and went back to continue packing.

I panicked like 10 minutes before leaving home - brought a large suitcase and was having problem with it. Feared that it exceeded 15kg, my dad tried carrying it (since my mom threw away our weighing scale!) and said, "Hmm, almost there." I panicked and threw our my pack of masks (konon want to use mask over there) and my extra (ahem!) makeup bag and hoped for the best.

My brother drove me and Pakwan to the LCCT, and along the way I was so excited/nervous that I was fidgeted a lot.

"I haven't been on a plane for since I was 11!"

Sad but true.

Reached aiport around 9pm, did the mobile check-in, worried about Wenzy, and went to McD's for dinner. Both of us were anxious since Wenzy has not arrived when our flight was supposed to be at 11pm.

But she arrived, although late, and we went to baggage drop off.

My luggage was 14.8kg (PHEW! my dad is awesome kan?)

Went through the usual, jakun me went through the body scanner with my phone in the pocket wtf and got to our boarding gate and then..

yada yada sorry if this is boring i myself got bored typing this LOL

Anyways I have a confession to make:

I actually teared (a little bit only OK!) when the plane took off. I'm not sure why. It's either I was too happy about going on my furthest (for now) overseas trip or the fact that I'm fulfilling my dream of going to Korea.

excuse the stupid smile, Wenzy scolded for not smiling excitedly so I automatically did and that weird smile just appeared on my face!
Overall our flight was okay, EXCEPT for the two babies who cried almost through the entire flight! I was annoyed I must admit, but that's because I couldn't stand it because they were crying as if they were in pain, and I so cannot take that weh.

I think I slept like an hour? Kept waking up now and then..

We reached at around 0620 local time, and when I was about to walk out of the plane I saw my primary school friend! LOL. But didn't manage to catch her after we were walking towards immigration and luggage pick up.

The weather was around 16 degrees, cold for me since I can't even stand my own office's airconditioning. But I love it better than Malaysia's hot weather obviously. Haha.

Me and Pakwan skipped eating while on the flight while Wenzy had awful plane food, so we had to find breakfast! Initially wanted to try Paris Baguette but since the place had limited seats, we went to its neighbour, Cafe Pascucci!

Took awhile to decide how to travel, in the end got the T-money cards and decided to take the train (Exit 7, if I'm not mistaken). T-money is actually like Touch n Go, but they can also be used in taxis, 7-Eleven, GS25 AND Family Mart. And maybe other places we didn't know! :O

This is just a Korean-trip related post, since I still haven't been able to post about my trip.

Have been emo-ing yesterday, so to perk myself up, I took photos of the jewelry that I bought in Korea.

I thought I went crazy and bought a lot, but actually it's not that much!

Unless I didn't unpack properly and there are more jewelry hidden somewhere in my bags! LOL

The three of us bought this bracelet each as a friendship bracelet. We used to have friendship rings (with our initials engraved on them!), but I guess they're either lost/karat haha

We got them at a shop called FARMER in Apgujeong, and I think it's a chain since we found the shop in Garosugil too.

On our last day, we went to Changdeokgung. Since we were too early for the English tour, we went into the streets and got into this shop which caught our attentions. All the stuff were handmade, but they're not cheap. Couldn't help myself to buy two pieces though. Wanted to buy more but.. of course I had to control myself!

Was in Ssamziegil after visiting Gyeongbokgung on our fourth day, many shops selling stuff and I tried to control myself from buying stuff I don't need (or maybe can get cheaper), but succumbed to temptation and straightaway bought 3 items at ONE stall! Haha..

After that I bought so much gifts (for people!) at one uncle's shop haha fail.

Now, I bought the items below at this one shop in Myeongdong, but I can't remember the name. Once I can recall (where's my receipt dey?) I'll put it up. All I remember it's at the row of shops opposite lesportsac (if you see lesportsac on your right, at a corner, then it's at the left). We love this shop, went there twice, Pakwan bought 2 cardigans! The shop sells bags, wallets (some made from eel skin! :O), clothes, hairclips, jewelries etc..

How I spent my 2011 Merdeka Day

Woke up early and since it was the second day of Raya (and since it's a 3-day holiday for most of us) I gave no hoot about the date until I saw:

Anyways, did nothing much. Had lunch, slept awhile before going out for dinner since Yng Jiun came down. I mean came up.

wore one of my new rings. superlove. been hooked on rings lately. oh just had to have Takuya∞ as the background. random fact: the dude has a mole under his left eye, just like BIGBANG's G-Dragon. Another similarity? They both composes most of the songs for their respective groups :O
lookie what I've found at The Gardens' Rock Corner! So expensive, I already have the regular edition of BIGBANG's album though (thank you Jesica) and I couldn't bring myself to buy these two. Was contemplating on getting 2NE1's album too, but then decided not to. Will spend on concert DVDs instead :P

It was my first time ever eating in Dragon-i, was told that it's specialty is La Mien, and you can see the chefs pulling the noodle (la as in pull, mien as in noodles - wah my Mandarin so keng already *proud*) behind an area which is visible to diners.

As for me, I got greedy, I ordered the Szechuan La Mien which comes with pork chops. The pork chops were average for me, a bit salty to my liking. :/

The Szechuan version was not spicy for me as it was for Yen Lin, but I do enjoy the soup! I wish it was tad spicier and more sour. And I noticed that the noodles starch seeped into the soup, making it thicker! :O I wish the noodles were more springy though.

Pakwan suggested to go there to plan our Korean trip iterinary, and luckily we ate before overusing our heads off for the planning.

I must applaud Wenzy and Pakwan for their hardwork - I just sat and pretend to study all the details when actually I wasn't concentrating.

I really have to work on my attention spanlah.

But to cover it back, I promised the girls that I'll check out on the food names, and maybe restaurants we should look out for. AND I'm gonna make sure we go to SE7EN's chicken restaurant, Yeolbong.

Now.. if only I can find the damn addresses.

Both sandwiches are delicious! Though we didn't quite fancy the rye bread chosen for the roast beef sandwich. Found the bread had a yeasty taste and a bit airy. Wenzy had the club sandwich which was good too. The chicken breast meat used was juicy and tender! :)

Had my sandwich with a glass of hot Golden Retriever - milk+caramel, not the dog, kay? Sweet, but tasty and sooooooo creamy *dreamy mode*

I'm definitely gonna go back there. Have yet to try their scones, cakes and coffee! I'm currently taking a break from coffee for a month or so I didn't try any of their coffee stuff.

One of the Japanese bands that I've been listening to nowadays a lot is UVERworld, a band which I started liking years ago but did not pay attention as much as Orange Range at that time.

And by know I'm pretty sure that all of you have a gist that I'm starting to enjoy UVERworld's stuff even more so, after a series oh googoogagaing over K-pop.

The first song that I like from UVERworld is second debut debut single, CHANCE! which I would always sing along to (doesn't matter if I sing correctly or not) whenever it's on. And I particularly like this line:

時わprecious！どな時も愛する人の為に、輝いたいたくて
Time is precious! No matter when, I'll shine for the one I love
It's a very sweet line, and everytime I sing along I'll always have a smile on my face Ihavenoideawhy.

After that I followed their stuff, but didn't pay much attention. Until recently I was bored of K-pop so I thought of watching some live videos from the band. Someone uploaded some clips from their recent DVD, LAST Tour Final at Tokyo Dome and I was so wow-ed by the performances!

I like how they set the stage: there's a smaller square stage connected to the main one and during certain songs they performed in the middle, which is good cause the audience in the middle get to see them close by too!

I iz jealous.

Now I reallly feel like watching them live.

Anyways, a little about the band. Made up of five dudes (or six, if you count the saxophonist, Seika in) who come from the same place. Two of them have been friends since kindergarten!

He reminds me a lot of Shaggy from the Scooby-Doo cartoon. I don't know why. Must be the slouch. Hoho.

One of the reasons why I like this band is the combination of sounds produced by the two guitarist, which often produce really beautiful melodies. I mean, I especially lovelovelove when they play at the neck.

真太郎, Shintarou - Drum, tallest of the team, second youngest

I'm not sure how I would define their sound. Initially it was like J-rock infused with hip-hop, and most of their songs had a lot of raps. It's not typical J-rock, sometimes it goes a little V-rock style when TAKUYA∞ does the vibrato-effect with his voice in some live performances. And he can beatbox, complete with the scratching and screeching effect wtfsoawesome. And how he can use different ranges of vocals in one song.. phwoar.

They do use English in their songs, sometimes hearing the English lines makes me cringe/wanna curl up, but most of the time the grammar used is correct. TAKUYA∞ needs to work on the pronunciation a bit more.

You can find snippets of their song in animes like BLEACH, The Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist), BLOOD+; the drama Dandori: Dance Drill, Gundam etc.

Their debut single, D-Technolife is used as the second opening for BLEACH. I have a love-hate relationship with the song, but I pretty much like it when performed live. :P

The UVERworld concert DVDs arrived in one week, and what a hell of a week it was for me waiting for them to arrive! :P I visited Pos Malaysia's website everyday just to track my package!

Glad to see that the DVDs were packed in a sturdy box and sealed very neatly - the DVDs were bubble-wrapped and wrapped with another layer of paper.

ENDING MONDO PIECE was played after the band left the stage on the screen monitor, with the lyrics and photos of the band flashing, I see fans crying, cause the lyrics are really sweet :')

Special - Backstage invitation interviews, preparation leading up to the concert, and scenes backstage after the concert. Takuya∞ hugged all the other members - Akira, Nobuto, Seika (although he's like not officially a member, but I feel he should just be! Or maybe there's a reason why he's not, but he's been with them so looooong), when he got to Shintarou you can see he started crying and when he got to Katsuya leaderさん, I think he just lost it

I've watched both, I can't decide which I like more! The band is really awesome on stage and Takuya∞'s voice is just so amazing. There's a lot of improvement since their debut, so I think this is a band worth following.

I'm going to try to catch their 2012 tour next year. Hope they'll announce ASAP so that I can book the flight tickets and get someone who know Japanese to help me purchase the ticket. I really wanna hear CORE PRIDE live! And of course I wanna sing along to CHANCE! And NO.1 is a must! So that I can sing along to "love love love love psychic"

When the latest 2NE1 single, UGLY was released, I was at work and watched it at my office (YES, Youtube is not blocked wheeeeeee~). The CPU speakers didn't do much justice to the song, so when I got home I didn't bother looking for the MV again.

And then today I watched the girls' performances on SBS Inkigayo - a short performance for Hate You while they did a full song for UGLY.

Bleah the chorus just hit the spotla. It dugged out all the insecurities I've been trying to hide by appearing with a I-don't-give-a-fuck attitude most of the time.

I don't get why everyone brings them up when I myself try not to think/talk about my insecurities. I know I have a double chin/flabby arms/3 spare tyres/thinning hair/crooked teeth/etc you don't have to remind me. And it doesn't help that my (girl)friends are all on the petite side - makes me look like a giant when I'm around them (although it's a bonus cause I'm taller than them! heehee) and they're all very pretty!

So shut up and let me be.

Anyways, back to the song. I think it's pretty good. It's different from the other 2NE1 songs - this is a little bit rock. The lyrics are pretty much on the pessimistic side, but I think it represents the feelings of people with the insecurities, boys or girls, young and old.

But I like the beats, the melodies, the kick-ass feel it gives. I'm hoping to see them perform this with a band. Get a J-rock band, please! Get Shintarou, Nobuto, Akira and Katsuya to play the instruments for you. And maybe Takuya will do beatboxing. Or maybe sing backing vocals LOL. Oh make him dance, I don't mind. heehee.

I must be having my usual PMS nowadays.

Got very touched during a wedding yesterday night - my dad's cousin's, whom I've never met before and I'm pretty sure she was as clueless as who I was when I congratulated her yesterday.
:P

Anyways, it was held at Royal China Restaurant at Jalan Ampang, I represented dad and went with mom, and met up with my dad's sisters - my aunts from Singapore.

Ahhh I miss them both already. Might go down for Christmas heehee.

Back to the wedding. They showed the wedding photos, including what transpired in the morning when the groom went to pick up the bride, and I could't help but go "awwwwwwwwwww (in my heart)" when I saw the couple's happy faces.

Honestly, honestly, I can't help feeling a little jealous of them. It's like, "Will I be able to smile like that one day?"

Of course my time will come *fingers crossed* one day, but I really wonder when will that be.

At times I think, I don't think I'm ready to be involved with anyone right now. I still have problem with juggling my tasks at work, I hardly get to spend time with my friends and I have loads of things I would like to do before settling down.

So, where got time?????

Even if I do, I think I won't give the relationship my very best, and it's very unfair to the guy hor????

Then I got touched while watching the Japanese drama, Last Friends.

starring Mizukawa Asami, Eita, Ueno Juri (all three acted in Nodame Cantabile), Nagasawa Masami and Nishikido Ryo (acted in the drama 1 Litre of Tears)
I can't remember when was the last time I watched a drama that is shocking, yet touching at the same time. I mean, most of the J-dramas I watched were all of the comedy kind, with some family values inserted in it. This is the first time I watch a drama that deals with homosexuality, domestic violence, sexual misdeed, all together wrapped up with the elements of friendship.

I must say Nishikido Ryo did a good job in giving me the creeps and making me believe that supernice guys can be distorted in some ways. And how his character is a selfish bastard for raping Michiru and then committing suicide straightaway wtf so crazy!

Ahhhh. When was the last time I spoke of a new K-pop group idol I simply adore? *thinks back*

Hmmm. After B2ST, I haven't been bothered about checking new (or old) K-pop groups (or idols) because non impressed me as much as BIGBANG and B2ST. I can name them of course, but then if you ask me more I'll definitely go, "err.."

So when there's this new idol group debuted (which was supposed to be a huge hoohoohaha because they're produced by Cho PD, I mean I don't know who Cho PD is btw, should be famousla but I don't know okay? He'll be known as Block B's boss to me).

Okay, yeah Block B.

The first time I saw their MV, 그대로 멈춰라! (Freeze/Don't Move), I was so turned off by their outfits LOL. (Yeah I hated B2ST Bad Girl MV outfits too! But I love the song, I wish they wore what they wore in the Japanese version MV. Hurmmm.)

I thought it is good song. A happy song, which can make you bounce up and down. The rap verses are great and even the bridges and chorus are good. I can't stop listening to it daily. I'll be singing this in the car and keep repeating throughout my whole journey to work and back. That's how infectious this song is to me. So eventually they made a place in my heart LOL

Wtf my 3rd favourite K-pop male group. And it starts with the letter B too!

B-Bomb, Park Kyung, Zico, Jaehyo, P.O., U-Kwon and Taeil. They're all 1990-ers wtf so young
Their style is more hip-hop than the usual K-pop, with 3 rappers (Zico, Park Kyung and P.O.). The one who sounds like BIGBANG's T.O.P. is P.O., who is actually the youngest (wtf how come his voice can sound so old, and he's into acting too!). He had such hard time will all the critics because of the similarity, but there's nothing much people can do because his voice IS really deep even when he speaks! What? You want him to undergo operation to change his voice ah?? Crazy. If he's born with it, then it shall always be his rights to have that voice. I'm sure there are other people who sounds the same.

Zico is the leader, who also produces their songs. People might compare him to BIGBANG's GD but I think he has his own class. Park Kyung does some of the rap-making (i think it means, composing the rap parts) and he and Zico had been doing stuff together prior to their debut. Go check some out, very the hardcore.

I'm not sure when was this released, but this is their version of Miss $'s Over, titled It's Not Over. It doesn't have all the Block B members in it, so maybe this was before the line-up for the group is confirmed? But I like it a lot.

B-Bomb and U-kwon are the dancers and subvocalists in this team, while Jaehyo serves as the pretty one (and subvocalist)! I like his voice in Tell Them. Taeil is the main vocalist, the one with the best voice! U-kwon is the cute-smiling type, you know the kind that will light up people's lives by smiling? Seriously very adorable! His favourite dance moves remind me of those of TVXQ's U-know Yunho (eh why name like same), you know when he does the whole body rough shaking thingie wtf am i saying but i hope you'll understand.

Dancing-wise, I think the boys have a lot more to practise. I think they themselves acknowledge their limited dancing skills but so far I like the choreography in Tell Them. And the "wave" in Freeze lol.

They released a mini-album, Do You Wanna B? which consists of Wanna B, Freeze! and a sort of hip-hop-balladish 나만 이런거야? (Is It Only Me?). Then they released New Kids on the Block which has those 3 songs, Tell Them, the very hardcore Halo, idol-music-like U Hoo Hoo and instrumental versions of Freeze! and Tell Them, which actually sound very good, and very.. urm different without the vocals. So go check them out ya?

I am pretty sure if they come down to Malaysia I will go watch them! Heehee.

YES I went to the B2ST fanmeeting in Sunway Lagoon last Friday, and I definitely did not regret my decision on going!

the entrance at around 1730 hours, my dad said when he saw people at lining up as early as 1500++ hours! :O
Of course, I learnt my lesson from the last event I went and went to see Kristen, Feli and their junior, Vanessa instead! Walked around with them before the girls walked me to line. So sweetla you girls. Heehee.

Managed to go in around 2000 hrs, walked relaxingly from the entrance til the Surf Beach, and was overwhelmed by the view. I didn't know why I felt happy yet nervous at the same time.

Decided to stand further behind from the crowd without compromising my view of the stage when my sisters, my cousin and her friend joined me since they figured the view was not bad and at least we didn't have to worry about being squashed by over-enthusiatic fans haha

"Dear Beast, you are our FACT, we are your FICTION" argh so corny!!! *curls in* (oh the OSIM hand thingie was from the Proton Malaysia Open, my sister conteng-ed all over it because she forgot to prepare banners/signs/whatever thing to flap around that night)
The event started on time at 2030 hrs, the boys came out elevated from below the stage and performed Special, a song which really got the crowd going. Couldn't help jumping when they went, "Bounce with me, oh oh oh! Bounce with me, oh oh oh!"

Then they performed Soom (Breathe), getting the crowd to sing along to "breathe in, breathe out, hooo haaa hooo haaa" LOL before Owen Yap came out to emcee.

The boys introduced themselves in Malay, and I think Yoseob's pronunciation was the best! :D He went, "Apa khabar, nama saya Yoseob, Yoseob imida" LOL so cute. He was definitely the most hyper that night, besides Dongwoon, who at times laughed in a very weeeeiiiirrrd way he should get a smack.

They celebrated Doojoon's birthday! This is the second time Doojoon's birthday was celebrated here, the first was at the autograph session in One Utama last year

After a bit of talking, Owen Yap invited a bunch a boys who won a dance competition somewhere to dance Shock with the boys as audience and the boys performed Shock, Beautiful and Rainy Days.

Six girls were lucky-drew and got to play bowling with the boys!

The funniest thing was, when Yoseob got his partner he hugged her (causing all girls to scream) but when he read what was on the girl's sign he started shouting, "Joker?! Joker??!! JOKER???!!!" (Joker is Junhyung's nickname btw and apparently the girl is a Junhyung fan). I thought he was saying "Cukup! Cukup! Cukup!" my hearing is very the fail LOL. But they continued being partners and he was really good towards her even Owen Yap went, "these two like couplelah" haha okay I memang sudah jealous.

They performed Fiction, and went off stage before getting back for an encore with Oasis. I thought that was the end until the first few guitar strums for 니가 제일 좋아 (I Like You the Best, but not the album version) and I froze, held my cousin's hand and screamed like one mad girl because I was wishing for them to perform this song.

AND THEY DID WTF I CAN DIE HAPPILY NOW!

Oh wait I can't I still have loads of goals to achieve, I'll only die after completing them.

Anyways I danced hard and sang along, and when they sang the very infectious V.I.U., I knew I had a really great night. When the boys left the stage the same way they appeared, I couldn't help myself from giving them a standing ovation. I could, but I was already standinglah, so...

Honestly, I enjoyed this better than the one in KL Live last year. It was well organised, I'm pretty sure nobody fainted haha. Or maybe some did.

Thank you B2ST, for making my July 1st in the year 2011 a very memorable one.

And thanks to Feli, Kristen and Vanessa for coming down to KL. I really have to go over to your sides one day! Promise!

I haven't been blogging for quite a while, was a bit bogged down with work. Not to the extreme of doing work at home though. I did try bringing work back home with me but as always I'll be too tired to do it after dinner. So I'd usually end up bathing and then going to sleep, setting my alarm 2-3 hours earlier before my usual day.

But of course, snooze snooze snooze.

Now I'm a bit free, we are heading to get a certificate in September, and the auditing date is set on a day which I'm supposed to be in Korea.

YES, I'm going to Korea! 7 nights! SEVEN NIGHTS ya hear me????!!!

I haven't applied for my leave yet, and I haven't inform the head of the committee in charge of preparations for the certification that I won't be around at that time. Sucks being in charge of promotion when my own work is crazy, but i'll do everything before I leave and pass them all to someone.

Right now I'm trying my best not to take anymore off-days so my holiday will be justified.

Just finished watching My Princess starring Kim Tae Hee and Song Seung Hun.

Didn't expect to enjoy it so much that I finish 16 episodes in less than a week! :D

The last show I watched Kim Tae Hee on was IRIS, where she played an agent, all serious and all. But in this drama, she's like 180 degree different! So bubbly, so joyful and when she cries... :'(
I'm so in love with Song Seung Hun's character, Diplomat Park Hae Young, who is the grandson of the man who wants to restore the Imperial Family back into Korea. Some of his lines are a bit creepy-crawly-cheesy and when he's a jerk at times, he'll make you feel like slapping him, BUT BUT he's so.............. *dreamy sigh* the way he cares for the princess... ahhhhhh..

I wonder if such a character exist in Malaysia' own Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

TAIPING

My cousin decided to hold his daughter's full moon on a weekend even though she had not reached the age of one month since his holiday was finishing so we decided to go celebrate!

Left around 0800, stopped by Taiping for Ipoh Nga Choy Kai (bean sprouts chicken) at the restaurant beside Lou Wong.

Reached Taiping around 1400, rested and went "oooooohhh" and "ahhhhhhhhh" over baby Alyssa (yup, that's her name) at Ah Sou's house before my cousin and his wife took us to have some seafood in Kuala Sepetang! :D

PORT DICKSON

Yet another kursus. I think I already have a total of more than 10 hari berkursus, more than what is required. Funny that I did not have to apply for any of them.

Stayed in Ancasa Allsuite Resorts off Teluk Kemang, in a 2-bedroom apartment unit. The unit is nice but I'm sooo disappointed with the food prepared for us. If only cooking was allowed in the unit. Pfft.

I'm not gonna go on about the course, nothing fantastic/awesome. Made me more stressed gotlar. >:(

Went to the PD Ostrich Farm!

Ostrich satay. The meat's red and a lil flaky. And no, it doesn't taste like chicken. Nothing special, won't eat again I guess.

Had a tayar pancit (inflated tire) episode after meeting Wen Zhen for lunch in PD Town. I headed back to where my colleagues were and thank goodness for the two men there. Mwahaha.

Right after PD I went to my aunt's place for the weekend. Did nothing much but brought my cousins out cause they were so excited to see me, which reminds me, I need to go see them often.

They brought me to a Japanese restaurant in Mahkota Parade called Siparaku, which has a buffet-concept next to it. Since the youngest of the lot wanted to eat kao rou (grilled meat), we went into the restaurant instead.

edamame beans served as appetiser, even if you didn't order. Don't be fooled, it's NOT free. Pfft.

grilled Australian sirloin! Good, but the hot rock does not last long, when we wanted to grill our second batch it took longer to cook :(
beef sukiyaki. It was okay, I dislike the fact that they dumped the beef strips straight into the hot pot. Hmmph.
Pricing-wise, it's like the ones in KL. But the food is mediocre. I might try the buffet side next time I go. And I'm planning to bring them to the Japanese restaurants here.

Got superexcited when I saw this poster of Sandara for Etude House so I just had to take a photo. This outlet's ambassador is Sandara, I'm not sure about the KL ones though. I knew when 2NE1 started endorsing Etude House products, the outlets in KL still used Lee Minho and Park Shin Hye, but they did bring some stuff that the girls promote. So what a delight to see one of the girls being the main attraction.

The Blabs #2/2011

[When I drafted this I was down south, took a few (lonely) nights to edit my photos, and now I'm back home already LOL]

Am currently blogging from my sister's laptop, at one of my department's branches down south. This is the third course I'm attending this year, with one being completed last Friday.

Driving alone gets a bit lonely, but nothing beats getting to stay a room by your own self! Although I wish they would have given me an executive room at least, oh well.. but the darn fridge has to be brokenla now! :/

Though I'm glad that they scrapped off the night classes, it's getting boring if only I could drive back to KL and back. Or maybe at least Melaka. Went out with my clerks for grocery shopping at Kluang Mall damn sad weh.

I used to be a big fan of the Taiwanese hip-hop group, Machi especially during when was around 17? 18?

Jump 2003 (from their 1st album)

Shuang(from their 2nd album)

Wo Ai Chou Sing Sing (from their 3rd album, check out Stefanie Sun in it!)

I went to watch them in 2004, when they came down to perform for a Merdeka celebration, and attended their showcase in 2005, tickets courtesy of Yuen (and I won two extra tickets from MTV Asia!)

After their 3rd album my interest in them sort of dwindled down, and I didn't hear any new songs from them. So imagine my urm, surprise when I saw a photo of one of the members on allkpop.com, when they wrote about a new group, Aziatix.

"Isn't that Xiao Pang Zhi?" (they guy on the left)

Xiao Pang Zhi (Real name: Nicky Lee) is a Korean American, who is a member of Machi. Besides the group's releases, I think he also released two solo albums. And I bought his first album, Shadow and err it's somewhere in my room though. :P

So this is GO by Aziatix, a group produced by Jae Chong, who also produced for Machi.

I like this song a lot, I've always loved Nicky's soulful voice. Eddie Shin (the dude with the long hair)'s voice is good too, and Flowsik's urm flow is *thumbs up* Looking forward to more songs from them!
